The whooping cough vaccine
The partner can have theirs at any stage but it is recommended the mother have hers at about 30 weeks so that she has maximal immunity around the time of delivery. The antibodies against whooping cough pass through the placenta so the baby can be born with immunity to the disease. This protection will wear off at around 6 months of age so it is still important to get your baby immunised.
You can get your vaccine at your GP or at a council immunisation session.
